Fraudulent Advertisements on Craigslist
PULLMAN – The Pullman Police Department has recently received two confirmed reports of intentionally fraudulent advertisements on Craigslist directing prospective buyers to call a certain phone number. The phone number provided in both instances belongs to a local business that did not place the advertisement. Consequently the business has been inundated with phone calls in response to the fraudulent ads.
The Pullman Police Department has initiated a criminal investigation into the fraudulent activities, which is a class B felony and punishable by a prison sentence of up to 10 years and a fine of up to $20,000.
Anyone with information that may help in the investigation is asked to contact Pullman Police Officer Brandon Koe at (509) 334-0802.
