Pullman Fire Department Swears In New Assistant Chief

Ryan Scharnhorst was promoted to the position of Assistant Chief of the Pullman Fire Department on May 1st, 2013.  Fire Chief Mike Heston administered the Oath of Office and presented Ryan with his new badge as well as a department coin.  Witnesses to this ceremony were Mayor Glenn Johnson, City Supervisor Mark Workman as well as numerous members from within the department.

Prior to this promotion Ryan held the title of Deputy Chief within the Pullman Fire Department and oversaw the department's training activities.  He had been in-charge of training since 2009.

Ryan started work as a firefighter in 1995 and earned his EMT-Paramedic in 2000.
