Assault with Serious Injuries

PULLMAN – On Saturday, March 30, 2013 at about 1:55 am, Pullman Police officers responded
to a call of a disturbance at the Adams Mall parking lot, 600 block NE Colorado St., Pullman.
Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious male adult victim with a serious head injury. The
victim was initially transported to Pullman Regional Hospital and was later transferred to Sacred
Heart Medical Center in Spokane. At this point in the investigation, it is unclear what events led
to the assault and the suspect(s) is/are unknown at this time. The victim was subsequently
identified as David Warner, a faculty member at Washington State University.

There were apparently a number of witnesses to the incident. Investigators are asking for
anyone who may have witnessed the assault, or any actions involving the victim and the victim's
friend, to contact the Pullman Police Department at (509) 334-0802. The victim is described as
a 41-year-old male with long black hair, 5'-10" tall, 220 lbs., and was possibly wearing glasses
and may have had his hair in a pony tail. The victim was accompanied by a 31-year-old male
wearing a Seattle Seahawks jersey.
