PULLMAN – Pullman Police Detectives arrested Joshua W. Nantz in connection with the David Warner assault that occurred on March 30, 2013. This arrest follows the arrest of Madeline Fouts earlier in the day. Nantz came to the Pullman Police Department at approximately 7:30 pm at the request of detectives and was arrested for Assault First Degree, a Class A felony. Nantz is a 23-year-old male Washington State University (WSU) student and Pullman resident, birth date 02/06/90. An anonymous tip received over this past weekend led to the arrest of Fouts and Nantz. After booking, Nantz will be transported to the Whitman County Jail and will likely appear tomorrow before a judge in Whitman County Superior Court in Colfax.
Madeline Fouts was released from custody at about 6:00 pm today. Fouts had been arrested for Rendering Criminal Assistance and Providing False Statements to a Public Servant. Fouts is cooperating with investigators and was not directly involved in the physical assault of Mr. Warner. She is not considered a danger to the community.
Pullman detectives continue to follow leads on the remaining two male suspects and are aggressively following those leads at this time. Pullman Police are still asking for any witnesses to the assault to contact the Pullman Police Department at (509) 334-0802.
