PULLMAN – On Monday, September 19 at about 3:20 pm, Pullman Police responded to a call of a possible attempted robbery at a residence on NE Whitman Street. It was discovered that the suspect confronted the victim, a male occupant, and strangled the victim during the attempted robbery. The victim was able to free himself and ran to a neighbor’s house to call the police. The suspect armed himself with a knife and ransacked the residence that was also occupied by a female. The suspect fled after ransacking the location without harming the female and apparently without taking anything. The male victim received minor neck injuries but did not require medical attention.
The suspect was described by the victims as a black male, 5’8” to 6’0” in his early 20’s, with short black hair. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, light blue basket ball style shorts, and athletic shoes. The suspect was armed with a knife when he fled.
