Mark started working for the city of Pullman in 1985 as the Assistant City Engineer. Working his way up through the City Engineer position, he was appointed Public Works Director in July 1988, after a 6-month assignment as the interim director. In October 2012, Mark was assigned the additional position of interim City Supervisor, following the retirement of long-term (31-year) City Supervisor John Sherman. In January 2013, he was appointed permanently to the City Supervisor position, leaving the public works department after 28 years of service. Mark has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Idaho and is a registered professional civil engineer. He enjoys fly fishing, hiking, and biking, particularly in the upper St. Joe River country of north Idaho.
Karen has worked for the City of Pullman since August of 1981, and has served as the Human Resources Manager since September of 2003. Karen began working for the City after graduating from Washington State University. Karen currently serves on the advisory committees for the Association of Washington Cities Employee Benefit Trust and the Association of Washington Cities Workers' Compensation Retrospective Rating Program.
Ryan joined the department in late 2009 after working in Wisconsin. As the department Chief Officer in charge of training, Ryan oversee's all aspects of training. He has a bachelor's degree in Business Management and is also a Paramedic. Ryan is a Safety Officer for a type III Incident Management Team in Washington State. He also is the Vice Chair for the Washington Fire Chief's Training, Safety and Officers board. He also is the Assistant Conference Director for the Wisconsin EMS Association.
