Mike came to Pullman in 1979 attending Washington State University. After a short break, he started his fire service career in Moses Lake at Grant County Fire District #5 in 1981. He returned to WSU in 1983 joining the WSU Fire Department as a student resident and later hired fulltime by the department in 1985 where he received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Political Science. Mike joined the Pullman Fire Department in 1996 as the Assistant Fire Chief of Operations until his recent appointment as Fire Chief on February 1, 2013.
Ryan joined the department in late 2009 after working in Wisconsin. Ryan is in charge of the fire department operations. Prior to his current position of Assistant Fire Chief he was the Chief Officer in charge of training where he oversaw all aspects of training. He has a bachelor's degree in Business Management and is also a Paramedic. Ryan is a Safety Officer for a type III Incident Management Team in Washington State. He also is the Vice Chair for the Washington Fire Chief's Training, Safety and Officers board. He also is the Assistant Conference Director for the Wisconsin EMS Association. Scotty was hired as a reserve firefighter in 1999. He obtained the position of Crew Leader on September 11th, 2006 and held that until April of 2011. Due to full-time work committments he is no longer able to work as a reserve firefighter/EMT. Scotty now works with the department in the role of photographer, web editor, and trainer.
